PBIS STRATEGIES AT HOME
Parents and teachers must work collaboratively to encourage behavioral change in children. Many strategies must be reinforced at home and in the community. Because children spend the majority of their time with family, at home, and in the community, parent support is a crucial component of the effectiveness of behavior intervention. Teachers and parents should work together to create a bridge in developing a behavioral system that encompasses both school and home settings.
PBIS strategies are meant to be used throughout the day and in all settings and environments. Many positive strategies are inexpensive, do not require formal training, and are highly effective when consistently implemented.
